I have a confession to make. It is about my lack of faith in a situation a couple of weeks ago. It has been on my mind a lot lately.
When I went to church with Aaron, I saw a painting. It really grabbed my attention. It was of the woman with the bleeding problem reaching out to Jesus' robe to be healed.
I felt a burning in my chest, and the whisper of the Holy Spirit, "Touch it, Faith. You'll be healed." Even Aaron told me to touch it. But the closer I got, the more I tried to stay "logical," and the more I wanted to run away from it. When Aaron told me to touch it, I said, "No!" and then walked away quickly. By then it was time to go, and we left.
But ever since, I've thought, "If I had touched it and had that faith, I would have been healed." God wanted to heal me by having me listen to His voice, reach out in faith, and touch His robe. But I ignored His voice.
And my health problem is getting worse.
When I go back to Ohio, I will probably go to church with Aaron again. If I feel the tug of the Holy Spirit again, I will not ignore Him again. God will give me a second chance.

Hi Faith,
ReplyDeleteI know I do not know you...I have been following your blog b/c of the sincere spirituality I see here. I just wanted to comment on your post about acting on faith. If we focus on the missed opportunities, we tend to lose sight of the future openings. I believe that our Father knows us intricately--He knows when we will jump out of the boat walking on water, and when we will deny Him at the first sign of intimidation. He always meets us exactly where we are. One thing is for certain, if we refuse to do something He asks, only to return later with a willingness to do that very thing--that is acceptable. It's the individual that makes great boasts about how they will do this or that, only to forsake fulfillment of commitment that misses His eye. Sometimes, I think God gives us several missed opportunities only to increase our courage and lead us to the very moment in which we are actually able to truly receive. Who's to say that God is not developing your faith for the very moment that he will restore your health? I hope you will focus on the fact that you are obviously someone that is sincere in your walk...relationship is everything...all else will fade in the distance. God is your healing. He is faithful even when we are faithless! Please be encouraged, sister.
